SC BW Campaign Making

Is it worth it?

I mean.. Almost no one ever makes campaigns anymore.. And I'm thinking of going back into it.

For a technical reason consider this:

Starcraft/Brood War is so old today that it actually has trouble running on modern computers and/or setups. Obviously we're not to the point that it can't be run at all, however I've personally found that the best way to play is with launchers, so I can keep it windowed. Otherwise fullscreen non-launcher play results in annoying color flickering, and on big monitors the screen stretching is just hilarious.

Why not? If it's something you enjoy, go for it. There are certainly tools out there, however I would personally suggest you consider SC2, or maybe War3 campaigns instead. In the former case you still get the starcraft feel, but updated, in the latters case you could rip off http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-revolution to recreate that SC/BW feel

I personally still enjoy playing the original campaigns from time to time, although my true enjoyment comes from the amazing Antioch Chronicles which I still personally think is one of the best fan-made customs to date for just about anything.
